The roaring fans welcomed the Stonehill College Skyhawks football team as they faced Georgetown University’s Hoyas. Stonehill entered Georgetown as underdogs in the Sept. 16 game, they took people by surprise with their performance.
The Georgetown vs. Stonehill game was considered an alumni game so there were numerous graduates watching.
During the game, Jermaine Corbett rushed 130 yards and scored twice on the backs of the offensive line. While their quarterback, Ashur Carraha completed 15 of 24 passes for 175 yards. Chris Domercant had five receptions for 94 yards. Not to mention Domercant’s 12-yard touchdown reception from Carraha.
Perry Shelbred’s kick corked a 14-play, 61- yard drive in the Hoyas vs. Skyhawk game. Even though Shelbred missed the 38-yard field goal for Stonehill, the college still beat Georgetown 23-20.
