Students looking to improve their grades or seeking assistance in a course, can find help at the tutoring services office which recently opened its doors for the spring semester.
“We want everyone to know that they are welcome even if they are an outstanding student, this is a beneficial resource,” said the director of tutoring services Devon Deery.

The tutoring center on the third floor of the library gives students one-on-one sessions with a peer tutor that is qualified to suit their exact needs.
Tutoring services cover a vast range of subjects including all STEM 100 and 200 level courses and all foreign languages.

To ensure students receive the best possible assistance, the tutors are recruited by Deery, and writing tutors must send in writing samples.
The writing tutors can aid with any writing assignment from any discipline and can even help with applications.
The tutoring services office is open six days a week and has three available tutors for each shift.
This resource is not only for students who are struggling despite the stigma behind the word “tutor”.
All meetings are also available virtually, which gives commuters access without even leaving their house.
For the tutors, helping other students is an excellent way to get involved on campus.
“I love the relationships that I have made with my peers here” said Sophie Kripp, a senior who has workedas a writing tutor for nearly four years.
All information needed to book an appointment can be found in the “Offices” section of MyHill in the navigation center section.
