Stonehill student’s pulled out their paint brushes to help children with life threatening illnesses.
Stonehill’s Residence Hall Association is held its annual paint to support Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine.
Paint to Donate was held Feb 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Commons A.
Camp Sunshine provides retreats combining respite, recreation and support, while enabling hope and promoting joy, for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families through the various stages of a child’s illness.
RHA President, Amanda Urban had volunteered at Camp Sunshine in the past. Seeing the positive impact it had on the families and volunteers who attended the camp she decided to support the organization even more.
“By supporting this cause, we are helping the camp continue to provide children with terminal illnesses and their families with a place to come together and have fun,” said Urban.
Allie Waterhouse, student of 2024, has attended one of RHA’s paint events.
“The first RHA paint event I went to was for raising money for my Brothers Keeper. There were around 20-30 people at the event. It was a nice way to get involved with an organization that was dedicated to helping others in need,” said Waterhouse.
Registration was $10 per person, and additional donations were welcomed.
In the past, this event has raised money for My Brother’s Keeper, Hope House and School on Wheels.
