If you are a senior and aren’t ready to leave Stonehill after graduation, the Integrated Marketing Communications Master Program could be the plan for you.
Students interested in marketing, communications or graphic design can apply for Stonehill’s integrated marketing communications (IMC) graduate degree program to learn more and prepare them to start their own business.
IMC program director and professor of marketing at Stonehill, Eddie Rhee, held a virtual information session Friday afternoon for anyone interested in the program.
Even underclassmen can get a head start on the graduate program by getting permission to take the creativity in integrated marketing communications course.
The IMC program offers classes in addition to Creativity in IMC such as Organizational Communication, Marketing Management, Role of Graphic Design in IMC, and Integrated Communication Strategies.
“Our program enhances the strategic thinking about marketing communication strategy and it’s a degree that enables the graduates to be able to come up with a truly comprehensive integrated marketing communication plan,” Rhee said in the Zoom session.
The IMC program is a part-time hybrid degree allowing a flexible schedule for work and school. The program consists of 12 3-credit courses with both on-campus and online options. Classes typically meet once a week in the evenings.
Stonehill’s IMC graduate program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) placing the program in an elite group of higher education institutions.
“There are only about 20 or 30 schools internationally that are accredited by this institution,” Rhee said.
The main goal of the graduate program is to gain professional experience to prepare for a future career in communication and business.
“The major outcome that we expect the graduates to possess is to come up with a truly integrated comprehensive communication plan and strategy for their business and for their work,” Rhee said.
Lynn Matull-Gardner recently completed her master’s degree and started a clothing brand called “4 the Decades” creating durable clothing that will last for decades.
Another recent IMC graduate from Stonehill, Kayleigh Grenon finished the program in two years and completed her capstone marketing plan on a product line called “Healthy & Happy Living” consisting of ready-to-eat meals that are healthy but taste good.
Students interested in getting their master’s in the IMC program at Stonehill must apply by May 23 for the summer and August 15 for the fall.
