All Things Politics... and Pizza Event Keeps Students Talking

BY CHRISTOPHER ROBBINS

Emma Gabel is hoping to get people to keep talking about the war in the Ukraine - and will be using pizza to get them together.

Gabel, a senior, and Prof. Bettina Scholz will be leading an informal discussion Wednesday, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the library’s Disco Room called “Russia’s Ware of Conquest in Ukraine: Walking the Murky Path of Justice in Unjust Wars.” The discussion will center on the moral challenges raised when fighting on the just side – and the question of if there is a just side.

The program dubbed “All Things Politics…and Pizza,” and will offer a lively discussion and slices of pizza.

Gabel said it is important for students to stay informed about the war.

“I hope that students will learn more about the war and its impact on both global and domestic security,” Gabel said. “It is essential that people are well versed because it has significant implications in global politics and security.”

She said she hopes people will learn about the war has strained Russia’s relationship with other countries and how it might impact Americans citizens if the war continues to escalate.
