Stonehill facilities are proposing to install water fountains in all residential buildings currently without them over winter break.
“Over the winter break, bottle and glass fill stations will be added in each building of Pilgrim Heights. There is also a proposal to add water fill stations to all remaining residential buildings. We are awaiting final approval on that proposal,” said Joe Fellone, associate director of operations.
Currently, many of the on-campus housing options that aren’t dorms don’t include filtered water fountains for the residents. Originally, students living in the Pilgrim Heights were told that they would be receiving Hill Card access to either Sheehan or Flynn, the only buildings with filtered water, but this never occurred.
“When we first moved in, we were told that we would have access to buildings with water fountains, and we still can’t get in. We’ve been walking to the dining hall every time we need water or just waiting until the next day,” said Mary Jane Petrlik ‘26, a Benaglia resident.
With the new water fountain installations, students will not have to walk across campus to get water or go thirsty throughout the night.
