Stonehill College’s community mission slogan is “think, act, and lead with courage to create a more just and compassionate world.” During February, a new action for the 75th year anniversary is introduced; “Stonehill Serves”.
Stonehill Serves focuses on bringing students a grand number of opportunities for volunteer work, strung across multiple partner organizations, and is now inviting up to 10 students to volunteer on February 24 at the Epiphany Food Kitchen located in Rhode Island.
“Epiphany Soup Kitchen, located in Rhode Island, is one of several partner organizations that opened their doors to us. Other partners that have welcomed Skyhawks through Stonehill Serves include The Farm at Stonehill, Fr. Bill’s & Mainspring in Brockton, the House of Possibilities in Easton, and School on Wheels in East Bridgewater”, said Ali Hicks, director of community standards at Stonehill College.
This initiative is one that will carry on through Stonehill’s legacy and is an opportunity for students to get involved in volunteer work they may not have had the opportunity to otherwise.
If you or someone you know would like to get involved, please contact Ali Hicks, Stonehill’s Director of Community Standards, by email: ahicks@stonehill.edu
