A Stonehill graduate was killed in a car-crash in Hebron early Sunday morning.
Sydney Ledoux, 23, lived in Bolton, Conn. graduating from Stonehill with a B.S. in biology and served as a Resident Assistant for three years.
According to CT Insider, Ledoux was driving north on Route 85 before crossing into the southbound lane and crashed into a mailbox and a tree. Police said the crash happened at 2 a.m. north of East Street, and that she was the only person in the vehicle.
New London Public Schools Superintendent Cynthia Richie said Sydney Ledoux was a district-wide speech and language pathology assistant who served students for multiple years as she pursued her college degree.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, students, and colleagues of Ms. Ledoux,” Richie said.
“New London Public Schools is home to Crisis Intervention Teams, made up of professionals trained to help with the needs of all, during difficult times such as this. Counselors and additional members of our district’s Mental Health Team are available for any students or staff who may need support surrounding this heartbreaking loss,” Richie said.
