Stonehill College Recognized as One of the Best Institutions in the United States

By MARY GETTENS

Stonehill College was once again recognized as one of the best institutions in the United States by the US News & World Report, and the Princeton Review, two of the most trusted names in higher education.

Stonehill was among 1,500 institutions assessed across 17 categories for academic quality. In the categories of National Liberal Arts Schools, Best Value Schools, and Top Performers on Social Mobility, Stonehill ranked in the Top 100.

“These honors are a testament of the value of a Stonehill education. I am thankful to our faculty and staff who helped pave the way for these distinctions. Each day, they inspire our students, to think, act, and lead in ways that the impact the word,” said Joseph Dacey, Vice President for Enrollment Engagement.

Stonehill has been on both lists several times over the years.

Sophomore Morgan Whitlock was pleased with the news.

“It is a well-deserved recognition for Stonehill and shows how important it is for us students to know we are learning from and are part of a great institution,” she said.

Sydney Russell, a freshman, said she shared a similar sentiment. “It is cool because you do not need to be at a big school to have a good academic reputation.”

Stonehill was also recently featured in the 2023 edition of “The Best 388 Colleges,” published by the Princeton Review. The guide compiles insights from 160,000 students about surveyed topics ranging from academic rigor to quality of life. This year’s publication specifically recognized Stonehill for its strength in the Career Development and Internship Programs.

“Stonehill is a place where academics, athletics, community, and the overall intellectual capability of the student body soars,” said first-year student Brianna Walkom. “When I decided to come here, I knew that the classes were not going to be easy and I was going to be challenged, but the resources and support Stonehill has to offer to give me everything that I need as a student to succeed. It is not surprising to me that Stonehill received this recognition, and in my mind, together we deserve this honor,” Walkom said.

Over the years, Stonehill has been recognized as one of the best intuitions in multiple areas by different publications. See here for a complete list of recent accolades.
