Coaches may have to bring their own coffee, and they do not meet in person, but the “Coffee with the Coaches” program is working to keep everyone up-to-date on what is going on with Stonehill Athletics.

Football Coach, Eli Gardner, worked in conjunction with the Development Office, Alumni Office, and Athletic Department for the first-ever “Coffee with the Coaches” program to bring everyone together virtually during the pandemic.

This meeting was created to update Alumni, parents, and fans on what has been going on this semester, what student-athletes have been doing, and what they have accomplished.

“We spoke about our organized team activities so far this Fall, what we can do and with what modifications, our student-athletes spoke about their experience on campus, day to day, and their thoughts on the team and how we are progressing,” Gardner said.

Each meeting only lasts about an hour, and so far, there has been a total of three. At the last meeting, Coach Gardner and two seniors, Anton Stoneking and Sam Athy were featured.

The previous meetings included Women’s Soccer which was held on Oct. 23, and Cross Country and Track & Field held on Oct. 30.

There are about four to five more sports lined up for the following weeks. A single meeting will include introductions from the athletic department and development office. Then the head coach for that week will speak and give an overview on fall semester athletic activities. There will also be perspectives from student-athletes on the team.

The next meeting will be set for Nov 13. on Men’s Soccer with head coach Jim Reddish and the two student-athletes to be determined.
